GoMining secondary market: when to buy a miner

The criteria to spot a good deal among listed Digital Miners, and how to set your target price in advance with buy triggers.

The secondary market in brief

On GoMining, you can create a new Digital Miner or buy one listed by another user. This secondary market often gets you cheaper hashrate, as long as you know how to read listings. Prices are set in GOMINING tokens and change constantly.

4 criteria to assess a listing

1. Price per TH

This is the first criterion: price divided by hashrate. It lets you compare miners of different sizes. For the same budget, a lower price per TH gives you more hashrate, and so more rewards.

2. Efficiency (W/TH)

Two miners at the same price per TH aren’t equal if one uses much more power: its electricity fees will eat into your rewards every day. The weight of maintenance fees

3. The cost of an upgrade

A cheap but inefficient miner can become attractive if upgrading its efficiency costs little. Conversely, a “cheap” miner can end up costing more than an already efficient one once the upgrade is paid for.

4. Floor price and rarity

Sorting by lowest price gives you the floor price: the minimum to enter the market right now. Rarity and collection affect resale value, not rewards: don’t overpay for it if your goal is mining.

When to buy?

  • When a listing drops below your target price per TH, with acceptable efficiency.
  • When a seller in a hurry lists a miner well below the floor: these listings go within minutes.
  • When the profitability calculation confirms it with your own discount and the current Bitcoin price. The profitability calculator

The ROI shown is only a snapshot. It depends on the Bitcoin price, network difficulty and the day’s fees. Use it to compare listings, not as a promise.

Frequently asked questions

Is the GoMining secondary market cheaper than new miners?

Often, but not always. Compare a listing’s price per TH and efficiency with the cost of a new miner with similar specs.

Should I buy a rare miner?

Only if you are aiming for resale or collecting. Rarity does not increase mining rewards.

How do I know if a listing is a good deal?

With GreedyHQ buy triggers: you set your criteria and discount, and the tool calculates the target price to compare with market listings.

Can I resell a second-hand miner?

Yes, a Digital Miner can be listed again on the secondary market. The price depends on demand at the time of resale.
